SYNOPSIS:
XIIth century, the Crusades. Godfrey of Ibelin (Liam Neeson), knight respected by the King of Jerusalem, and committed to keeping peace in the Holy Land, goes in search of his illegitimate son Balian (Orlando Bloom), a young French blacksmith who is mourning the loss of his wife and his son. Godfrey convinces his son to accompany him on his mission. After the death of his father, Balian inherits his lands and his knighthood in Jerusalem, the city where Christians, Muslims and Jews have managed to coexist peacefully during the lull between the Second and Third Crusades.
