SYNOPSIS: Founded by the Carthaginians as their main enclave on the Iberian Peninsula and after its conquest by Publio Cornelio Scipio (Africanus) in 209 BC, Carthago Nova went on to become one of the most important cities of the Roman Empire. The splendor of Carthago Nova is evident in the countless archaeological remains emerging in contemporary Cartagena, highlighting especially the magnificent Roman theatre. The 3D historical animation documentary, Carthago Nova, was made on the basis of these archaeological remains.
