SYNOPSIS:
Lidice is one of so many Czech villages striving to survive World War II as best it can. Daily life in the Protectorate seems to proceed with a certain serenity and the greatest commotion is a fight in a bar where a drunken father accidentally kills his son. Poor Sima is convicted of murder and sent to prison. He doesn´t know that this will save his life, as the whole village must pay for the murder of second in command of the SS, Reinhard Heydrich. This is not in order to find the culprit, but rather to choose a scapegoat. The plan is simple: the village must disappear, so it is obliterated and burned.
