SYNOPSIS:
Leonora Carrington, the last surrealist, died in 2011. This documentary presents her story - a woman eager for freedom, who fled strict London to be in Paris with Max Ernst. It was the first big leap in a checkered, adventurous and exciting biography, jumping from continent to continent and through historical events and artistic movements. This is all reflected, under an oneiric mantle, through works of art that range from painting to literature (the shocking text of Memoirs, inspired by her stay in a psychiatric hospital in Santander) or to cinema, where she worked as artistic director.
