SYNOPSIS:
When Zampanó, itinerant artist and
widower, buys Gelsomina, his wife´s sister, the girl´s mother offers not the least resistance. Despite Zampanó´s violent and aggressive nature, the girl feels attracted to the nomadic lifestyle, always in the street (strada in Italian), especially when her owner includes her in the show. Although several of the colourful characters she gets to know in
her wanderings propose she join them,
Gelsomina remains faithful to Zampanó to the bitter end.
