The Man with the Movie Camera is a portrait of St. Petersburg composed of hundreds of film strokes about everyday life in that city. With the complicity of his brother, cameraman Mikhail Kaufman, Vertov, true to his theories, does not allow it to be assumed even for a moment that any of these snippets were invented.
