SYNOPSIS:
West Germany in the early 1960s. The country is peaceful.
Bernward Vesper has taken up his studies in Tübingen
where he is attending Walter Jens´ seminar on rhetoric.
Bernward wants to be a writer and spends his nights
bashing the keys of a typewriter. At the same time he is
keen to defend his father, the nationalist poet, Will Vesper,
who was celebrated by the Nazis. Bernward realizes that
the country where he lives is marked by its past. The war
ended 15 years ago, former Nazis have returned to their
posts, nobody speaks of war crimes, the Republic
remains strong. Bernward then meets Gudrun Ensslin
and her friend Dörte. Gudrun and Bernward are
soul mates, and it’s the beginning of a story of
excessive love, unconditional and boundless
exceeding the limit of endurance.
