SYNOPSIS:
Set in Siberia in 1945, with Ignat (Vladimir Mashkov) as the typical Soviet hero. He arrives at a strange little place to start working as an engine driver and there discovers the local inhabitants´ passion for racing railway engines. In order to win them over (and on the advice of a friend), Ignat embarks on a search for an abandoned locomotive on an island. There he meets a young German woman who has spent the entire Second World War living on her own.
