SYNOPSIS: During the Spanish Civil War, many Republicans crossed the border into France. Most of these were eventually captured by the Germans when they were fighting on the front. After a stint in the prisoner of war camps, they were sent to Mauthausen or Gausen in Austria. Spaniards were to continue arriving at Mauthausen until early 1945. More than 7,000 Spaniards passed through this camp, of whom 5,000 died. Tragic moments are relived through the testimonies of those who managed to survive.
